Plant a Tree

For every product we sell at USMG, we pay to have a tree planted in Malawi, Africa. We believe strongly that we have a responsibility not only to help as many people as we can via our products, but also to help the planet that all of us live on.

After a lot of discussion, and looking at various options for the best way in which we could achieve this, we partnered with Ripple Africa. They are a UK-based charity who run many large-scale projects across Malawi in Africa. Ripple Africa empowers the local community with a Hand Up, not a Hand Out and we absolutely love their ethos, as well as their approach. Initially, we’re supporting their tree planting activities in Malawi, and very much hope to assist in sponsoring further projects as we grow.

It is estimated that for every ten trees planted, a tonne of carbon is absorbed. Ripple Africa have so far planted an astonishing 19 million trees through their projects! The trees also assist the local community with firewood, fruit and income as well as preserving natural forests from deforestation. We think that’s brilliant.
